Job Purpose:

This position is a dual role of sales and service providing relevant insurance advice and sales of products to new and existing clients. The sales role has targeted goals in developing business for the agency. This position also services their own book of business maintaining a high retention as they work remarkets, some day-to-day processing, market control, loss assistance, and looking at ways to round accounts.

The position is responsible for directly managing all aspects of the assigned book of business without requiring Account Manager assistance, but may have processing support; however, they may be required to perform all duties necessary to meet client service needs and therefore require experience and working knowledge of all processes related to client service.

  • This position may be hybrid remote for the right candidate.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Resident State P&C license required
  • Non-Resident licenses required as needed based on the characteristics of the assigned book of business
  • Five or more years related insurance industry experience
  • Must have extensive knowledge of insurance products and services available in the marketplace.
  • The Account Executive must be able to successfully utilize technology such as Agency Management system EPIC, inputting policy information accurately as per agency procedures; Excel, Word, Outlook; Microsoft Teams and EZLynx.
  • Must be able to navigate through various carrier websites to retrieve items for processing or customer inquiries.
  • Must be reliable.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 or more years related experience is highly desirable.
  • Professional designation such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU); Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) preferred.

  • Ability to be highly organized, yet flexible in dealing with shifting priorities, fluctuating workloads, and evolving procedures.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and enjoy working with people in a high-volume customer service environment.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, while maintaining positive staff relationships within a teamwork environment.

Examples of Essential Job Duties:

  • Has both account management, retention, and production goal responsibilities.
  • Has both renewal/retention and new business goals.
  • Manages assigned book of business.
  • Responsible for client account reviews and claims reviews
  • Responsible for claims reporting, claims follow up and claims monitoring; proactively advocate on behalf of the client for coverage, talking directly to Adjuster(s), to ensure claims are paid as intended.
  • May manage others and/or provide guidance to support staff
  • Responsible for the combined functions of the development and successful acquisition on new business revenue from new and existing clients and providing a high level of client service to assigned accounts
  • Performs heavy, ongoing servicing of accounts
  • Acts independently, Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Develops and maintains interdepartmental/intercompany relationships consistent with our corporate culture
  • Prepares submissions including analysis of coverage to be proposed; Requests quotes for additional coverages as needed to avoid coverage gaps or uninsured exposures; Answers all questions from insureds and underwriters
  • Negotiates with markets as respects coverages, premiums and commissions
  • Prepares and presents proposals to clients; Closes majority of sales on the assigned book of business; Travels to client sites as needed
  • Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.
  • Follow agency Standard of Excellence and Best Practices procedures for processing and preparation of customer documents and Acord forms
  • Other duties as assigned

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
