Professional Tutors of America, Inc. is looking for qualified Academic Tutors who are willing to tutor students in English Language Arts, Science, Math, and/or Reading Comprehension from K-12th grade and provide homework help. Our students are located in and near San Fernando Valley, Glendora, Altadena, Pasadena, Sherman Oaks, and Pacoima, CA. Tutoring will be in-person, one-to-one, and at the students' homes. This is for the 2022-2023 school year.

We are a fast-growing nationwide tutoring company that contracts with many government & community partners, developing tailored programs such as Foster & Probation Youth Tutoring, Indian Education, and School Intervention Programs. Currently, we are continuing to provide academic support and tutoring services to academically at-risk students from LACOE-FYS.

Our tutors and parents finalize the schedule. Materials are provided by PTA and each student will be given a pre-and post-assessment. Sessions are an hour long.

Our tutors can earn $24-$30 per hour depending on education, degrees earned, and professional teaching/tutoring experience. Tutors in California are part-time employees and are reimbursed for mileage and travel time while on-the-clock, (tutoring session to tutoring session). Administrative time is also provided.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a Bachelor's degree
• Must pass and clear a CA Live Scan
• Provide a Tuberculosis clearance (under 4 years old) upon hire
• Must have professional experience teaching or tutoring in Academia for at least a year
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to cover and tutor Math, ELA, and Reading Comprehension (grades K-12th)
• Ability to provide homework help
• Be available during afterschool and evening hours and/or weekends
• Ability to tutor in-person at the student's home
• Motivation and passion to help our students achieve academic excellence
