Essential* Functions and Responsibilities*
- The packer must know how to make boxes
- The packer must inspect the cans or boxes prior to packing, check if label is placed correctly, and see if label and carton match (when applicable)
- The packer must add plastic lids to the plastic lid application (when applicable)
- The packer must tape and palletize finished product
- The packer must add metal ends to can seamer if necessary (when applicable)
- The packer must also know how to operate can depalletizer if necessary (when applicable)
- The packer must also add stickers to the cases as order production order requires. (when applicable)
- The packer must perform any activity required by the operator, production lead or the production supervisor
- Adequately carries out all activities related to security and quality of the product
- Complies and enforces Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Education and Qualifications
- Basic math, reading skills, good communication skills, written and oral.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts
- Must be able willing to work with very little notice upon business needs.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-learner and ability to multi task
- Basic computer knowledge
- Must be able to cross-train in other positions including departments.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. and 50 lbs. with assistance
- Must be able to stand, walk, work in an environment where stooping, twisting and bending are frequent up to 10 hrs.
