4 Counselor II/Carolina United/FEMA TEMPORARY GRANT (Horry County) Job at State of South Carolina

With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
These are TEMPORARY GRANT positions that are located at the Department of Mental Health offices located in Horry County.
Under direct supervision, the Counselor II provides community disaster counseling for adult, child and adolescent citizens in the declared disaster areas.
Responsibilities for the TEMPORARY GRANT Counselor II includes but is not limited to:
- Provides outreach to diverse populations by listening to survivor's experience and informing survivor about resources.
- Collects data through mobile phone application on contacts with survivors.
- Canvases and travels in teams throughout the counties identified to connect with individuals, families, business owners, and first responders.
This is a 40-hour per week temporary grant position.
A bachelor's degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences and professional experience in human services or social services programs.
This position requires long hours with your team members in vehicle or canvassing areas to outreach to citizens.
