THE PLASTEK GROUP is seeking Quality Inspectors to work 2nd Shift for one of the Company’s Erie, PA Manufacturing Divisions. This facility performs plastic injection molding and component assembly. This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to work for a secure, progressive, and technologically advanced company. Entry-level quality inspectors are encouraged to apply as well.

Job Description: Quality Inspectors meet customer requirements and approvals of new and existing products and processes. They must have the ability to assist and interact with customers for product launches and new initiatives as required. These employees train and motivate their team in Statistical Process Control, TAMU, and other quality tools as needed. Across the board, Quality Inspectors provide leadership and direction for Lab Technicians as required. Other job responsibilities include: Product development and correlation studies; Drawings and engineering change notifications; Inspection Control Plans – development and implementation; Developing standard operating procedures; creating test methods, complete with gaging and measurement (develop new and revise existing, as needed); Data collection and justification for deviations and waivers.

Requirements:

  • Plastic injection molding background.
  • Demonstrated understanding of principles for product and process quality evaluation and control.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Customer-focused (internal and external).
  • Familiarity with ASQ Body of Knowledge and applied technologies for Certified Quality Engineers.
  • Ability to use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices.
  • Develop, apply, analyze, and test inspection procedures.
  • Corrective and preventive action analysis through a team approach.
  • Participate in TPM and other process improvement activities.

Education & Experience:

  • Degree preferred and plus plastic injection molding experience with an understanding of related inspection, quality assurance, and quality management systems preferred.
  • Quality Engineering Certification preferred.

Additional Details: Pay starts at $16 with a shift differential of $.50 for 2nd shift and $1 for 3rd shift, depending on the experience of the candidate.
