Description
The Learning Center Hub [LCH] student tutor is a part of the academic team fostering the success of students at the Rochester campuses. The tutor will work closely with faculty, academic, and administrative staff in assisting students with issues of academic enhancement and performance. This includes providing a comfortable learning environment for students to receive both formal and informal academic assistance. The LCH offers tutoring services in the areas of composition/writing, math, and computing skills as well as areas related to current curriculum, including but not limited to: business, accounting, allied health, biology, etc.
Tutoring Services:
- Provide on-demand or by appointment tutoring services on campus for individual or groups of students in areas of math, writing/composition, or specific areas of study.
- Provide guidance in the use of a variety of academic and productivity software programs.
- Document use of resources and services as requested by academic management.
Campus support:
- Assist Rochester campuses in academic administrative tasks as needed.
- Attend staff meetings and training opportunities as needed.
Position qualifications and expectations:
- Tutoring experience is preferred.
- Ability to interact well with others and work in a team environment
- Ability to travel to Rochester campuses – Greece & Henrietta
- Work schedule will be assessed on an ongoing basis and recalibrated as needed to suit the needs of the college.
