CSO is looking for a relief Youth Support Worker for our All-Stars program in Athol.

Our All-Stars therapeutic after school program provides a range of psycho-educational and recreational groups for youth ages 6-18.

As a support worker, you will work with 6-8 children in direct care activities and communicate with care givers and other behavioral health providers. Our goal is to strengthen child resiliency and aid in the development of skills in emotion regulation, social skills, social engagement and more. Being a support worker involves leading activities with children and sometimes their families, and participating in the planning of these groups and activities. This position is ideal for creative professionals who enjoy helping children.

CSO offers Training in: Trauma informed care, Motivational Interviewing, Cultural Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Mindfulness Skills and more.


(This is a relief position, per-diem. Typically, hours will range from 4-8/day.)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct services to therapeutic day program/after school program families and youth.
  • Provide on-site or community-based activities as needed.
  • Participate in development of treatment planning.
  • Assist in referral to ongoing therapeutic services; lead on site groups/activities for families and/or youth.
  • Participate in care planning and case management together with Clinician and other program staff.
  • Provide regular transportation for consumers as appropriate, following program guidelines and using agency and/or personal vehicle.
  • Consult and collaborate with other professionals providing services to clients.
  • Participate in treatment planning, team meetings, in-service trainings, and other required meetings.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or related field preferred. Knowledge of and training in child development and children's mental health experience. Good listening skills; ability to establish trusting relationships through compassion, empathy and insight, and ability to foster self-sufficiency in families using problem-solving and practical skills; familiarity with support groups or parent education groups. Excellent oral and written communication skills and computer proficiency required including ability to work with email, electronic health record and word processing software. Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record history and reliable transportation required.
