The Youth Achievement Center Coordinator collaborates with the Youth Development Director to deliver positive youth programming for the Youth Achievement Center, serving students 13-18 years old. This program takes place in the evenings, and includes oversight of a site specialist and all youth counselors and teacher/tutors.

Essential Functions

  • Research and implement a strong academic and enrichment program
  • Innovatively recruit and engage program participants
  • Build positive relationships with students in order to provide programming that meets their needs
  • Maintain and increase program enrollment and student attendance
  • Coordinate all program activities and schedules in conjunction with grant requirements
  • Maintain active school and community partnerships for sustainability of program success
  • Ensure academic programming aligns with school curricula as well as surpassing Grant performance expectations
  • Inputting quarterly and annual data into corresponding data bases to measure program success
  • Complete monthly, quarterly and annual program reports
  • Encourage family engagement through program events and initiatives
  • Promote the safety and well-being of youth
  • Manage program budgets
  • Support Site Specialist in maintenance of student and program records
  • Timely and accurate reporting to Youth Development Director and/or President & CEO
  • Provide Youth Development Director all required program information for 21stCCLC evaluation processes
  • Oversee all program staff to include site specialist, teacher/tutors and youth counselors
  • Assist Youth Development Director to recruit, onboard, and train qualified staff

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related area.

Licenses/Certifications Required: Driver’s License required for travel to multiple sites.

Experience in youth work and programs and in a supervisory/management role in a related field.

Must be fully vaccinated, including booster against COVID-19

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bilingual in Spanish / English preferred
  • Computer literacy (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) required.
  • Ability to handle staff conflicts and performance concerns in a fair and diplomatic manner.
  • Ability to lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with agency values.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Possess strong written communication skills.
  • Successfully complete fingerprinting and criminal history check.
  • Experience with program and grant management.
