Essential Duties:
1. Performs all radiologic exams with minimum or no supervision (with exclusion of venograms, myelograms, arthrograms, lymphanglograms and all other semi-special procedures that require advanced training and knowledge).

2. Sets up for Fluoroscopy studies with regard to procedure to be done and physician to do procedure without technical errors.

3. Demonstrates the principles of radiographic techniques and uses those principles to obtain film quality according to department standards.

4. Prepares room and equipment for radiologic examinations, including preparation of contrast and supplies, correctly and with speed and efficiency.
5. Follows the rules and regulations for radiation protection for self and others at all times.

6. Displays competent use of all portable X-ray equipment, including C-arms, with no supervision.

7. Displays sterile technique without contamination, takes appropriate action should this occur.
8. Cleans X-ray rooms and equipment after each patient and maintains good hand-washing routine.
9. Prepares patients for examinations, obtains necessary information as needed, communicates pertinent date to supervisor or physician in appropriate manner as needed.
10. Performs all darkroom procedures including duplicating and subtractions. Load and clean cassettes for CR Readers and clean X-ray equipment daily.
11. Transports patient when needed, recognizes patient needs (O2, IV fluids, etc.), maintains patient safety and displays correct body mechanics to avoid injury to self or patient.
12. Competes basic charting, interprets orders correctly, investigates vague or seemingly incorrect orders, recognizes correct patient, correct date and time for examination and checks for or obtains proper consent.
13. Performs basic troubleshooting when equipment malfunctions. Uses proper warm-up procedures, displays proper use of equipment and takes measures to prevent breakdown of equipment. Informs supervisor of any malfunctions and notes appropriately.
14. Displays correct use of markers and film identification on every film taken and performs quality assurance of own films within department standards when supervisor is not available.
15. Displays knowledge of all front office systems to include PACS, Cerner and Burning CD’s. Knows process for downtime procedures.
16. Works with X-ray students in a productive manner and informs the educational coordinator of their progress, uses students log on a regular basis.
17. Maintains supplies at acceptable levels as assigned. Accurately charges for X-ray examinations and supplies.
18. Displays competence regarding departmental policies and procedures in examinations of infants and children, including use of Pigg-O-Stat, fluoro examinations, number of views taken, patient safety, etc.
19. Demonstrates reliability when on-call and follows policies and procedures regarding call.
20. Actively participates in department Quality Assurance programs and utilizes QA polices and procedures as appropriate.
21. Provides patient education as appropriate provides follow-up to insure instructions are understood, documents as needed.

22. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:
Current California CRT license. Current AART license (or eligible to take the test if recent graduate or new hire AND must pass this test on the next possible testing date after hire) Current Fluoroscopy permit (or obtains fluoro permit within one year of hire). Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

The hospital, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to combine any of the above required experiences, or to consider applicants other work related experience in order to meet the above mentioned requirements.

Pay range: $30.99 Minimum - $42.93 Maximum an hour

Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
