Enbridge is looking for a Wind Turbine Technician II to join our team! The Wind Turbine Technician II will be responsible for the safe operations and maintenance of the turbines and Balance of Plant (BOP) at Cedar Point Wind.
This position will independently perform assigned scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting of the wind turbines with a goal of improving uptime and production. Does this sound like your next opportunity? We would love to hear from you!

Safety:

Adhere to Enbridge safety standards, procedures and ensure a positive safety culture. -
Provide recommendations to higher level technical staff and management regarding everything safety

Demonstrate integrity, strong initiative, work ethic, as well as a focus on safety and quality of work on a continuous basis
Specific Operations and Maintenance tasks
-
As a proficient technician you will ensure performance and maintenance of wind turbines through assigned tasks. Your accountabilities will include: -
Actively participate in the completion of asset integrity inspections and unscheduled (minor and major) work
-
Apply SCADA to support required work
Work Execution
Follow basic structured problem-solving processes to complete basic and more complex troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks (including the use of diagnostic tools - fluke meter, SCADA information, interpreting electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic drawings etc.)
Who You Are
-
You possess a High School Diploma and you will have at least 1-2 years of relevant work experience
-
Proficient and qualified with Scheduled / Standard work
-
Competent with Troubleshooting (basic and advanced)
The following expertise is preferred, but not required
-
Competent and qualified with High Voltage Electrical Switching
Technical experience:
-
Specific experience on Vestas V100 and V90 Wind Turbines preferred, not mandatory
-
A proficient understanding of wind power related systems, including, but not limited to pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, electrical, mechanical and power plant systems. Including the ability to read, interpret and understand drawings and schematics.

Proficient knowledge of maintenance scheduling, availability reporting, inventory management, on-time performance requirements and site supervision
-
Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows programs, Wind Turbine SCADA Systems, Turbine Software Uploading, Maintenance Management Programs (Maximo)

Ability to successfully participate in all training courses such as first aid, CPR and AED, climb and rescue training, and confined space training
Working Conditions:
Although / the incumbent will be assigned to Cedar Point in particular, the technician may be called to travel to other Enbridge facilities as needed.
Role requires a valid Driver’s License, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire and ability to obtain a Passport.
Role will require being on-call (24/7) to respond to emergencies and/or maintenance needs of the site (on a pre-determined, scheduled basis).
Physical Requirements (include but are not limited to):
Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 50 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects 50 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.
Must meet requirements of fit for work which includes, but is not limited to, demonstrating hand, arm, back and leg coordination needed to ascend and descend a wind tower and complying with a weight restriction of 132 kg (or 290lb) total climbing weight. Comfort working in enclosed spaces and at heights of 300 ft. Employee understands that these requirements may be modified at the Company's discretion.
