POSITION DESCRIPTION


AREA: Junior Prom Advisor


REPORTS TO: Principal and Activities Director


SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT:

Plans and supervises the Junior Prom and related activities.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Acts as a proper role model for high school youth.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work well with students and parents.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Participates as a member of the WHS teaching staff

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

  • Supervises Junior students and their planning of the prom.
  • Coordinates fund raising efforts for the prom.
  • Orders decorations and supplies for the prom.
  • Coordinates and supervises prom decorating.
  • Supervises the printing and selling of prom tickets.
  • Organizes refreshments for the prom.
  • Plans the grand march.
  • Secures music for the prom.
  • Works with parents, students and community members to coordinate the many aspects of a successful prom.
  • Chaperons and establishes proper supervision for the prom.
  • Coordinates the clean-up effort following the prom.
  • Reports directly to the principal and activities director.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position classification must perform in carrying out essential job functions:

  • Persons performing service in this position will exert 10 to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • This type of work involves walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods of time as required by situations of job position.
  • Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral and written information, the manual dexterity to move related equipment, and the skills necessary to handle and work with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Contracted on annual basis.
  • Remuneration established by CBA
  • Serves at pleasure of the School Board.
  • Should Board decide to release from assignment, remuneration will be prorated on a daily basis of the regular season.

  • Per CBA and/or coaching/Athletic handbook.
