Responsibilities Will Include:
The Wellness Assistant is primarily responsible for overall care and satisfaction of each resident. Delivers and coordinates day to day care of the residents in Residential Living following established policies and procedures and promoting independence through activities of daily living.
- Assists residents with activities of daily living, laundry, and housekeeping to support highest level of independent function.
- Uses positive communication and attitudes with staff, residents and family.
- Participates in daily housekeeping chores to maintain a safe, clean environment throughout the assigned area.
- Performs first aid and follows established policies on residents after incidents or accidents.
- Observes and reports changes in resident condition. Participates in originating and follow through of individualized plan of care.
- Assists residents during the dining experience. Preps tables, delivers trays, assists residents as needed and cleans dining area after meals.
- Coordinates and supports leisure time activities in collaboration with the Life Enrichment Department.
- Encourages participation in organizing daily routine and promotes independence with self-initiated tasks.
- Assists residents with medication pass as needed.
- Timely and accurate documentation of vital signs, medications, dietary intake as assigned.
- Monitors resident’s security and emergency systems.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, or GED
- Six months to one year related healthcare experience, Long Term Care preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant, required
