The welder is performing tasks in accordance with the drawing documentation, welding procedure specification (WPS) and other procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Execution of production plans
• Defining and selecting welding technology in accordance with WPS
• Preparing of welding surface
• Receiving instructions and work orders from Supervisor or Lead Person
• Performing of preheating before welding and during welding
• Performing welding operation according to WPS
• Checking the quality of welded parts
• Marking and completing of welded parts
• Operating and maintenance of tools, machines, equipment used during welding
• Clearing the technology waste and garbage after work
• Reading and interpretation of drawings and verifying casting specifications by use of measurement equipment (i.e. digital calipers, tape measure, thickness gauge, depth gauge, etc.)
• Maintaining shop equipment and related welding / fabrication tools
• Reporting inventory needs ensuring adequate materials are available
• Actively participating in department safety, demonstrating excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Offshore Wind work and standards
• Welding certification, AWS Preferred
• GTAW and/or TIG Certification and experience preferred
• Knowledge of procedures, health, safety and fire regulations
• Experience in welding stainless steel construction
• Basic knowledge in English, additional languages are welcomed
• Certified by American Welding Society, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, or other similar group
• Successful completion of a weld test (G1)
• Ability to read blue prints to properly fit up product
• Ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics and standard U.S. and Metric Measurements
• Knowledge of quality requirements and standards
• Ability to prioritize work in order to complete deadlines
• Ability to work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time result without errors
• At the end of 90 Calendar days the candidate must be able to maintain an acceptable level of production, quality and attendance as determined by Management

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour
