Weekend Editor (Video Games) Job at GAMURS Group
Prima Games, the destination for video game guides and news, seeks a Weekend Editor to lead our coverage on Saturdays and Sundays. Competitive applicants will have experience with editing writers' work, an eye for spotting mistakes, in-depth knowledge about a wide variety of the most popular single-player and live-service video games, and track current news and topics within the gaming industry.
The Weekend Editor will lead the weekend shift on Saturdays and Sundays for 8 hours per day during US hours. Responsibilities include sourcing trending topics for freelance writers to write about, using Google Trends and Analytics to make informed decisions about coverage, and editing writers' work to a high standard. Upholding good communication with the Managing Editor is also required.
We require at least 10 posts per weekend - or five per day - to start, which means the Weekend Editor will be required to write to ensure the quota is met if needed. Types of published content include news, guides, evergreen content, updates, features, and sponsored posts.
Pay is $25.00 per hour, and the successful candidate will be hired on a contract basis. There is also the option to write content during the week at freelance writer rates if desired.
