Washington State University (WSU) Extension invites applications for a full time

Extension Publications Coordinator. The position will be in Central Washington (North Central, South Central or Columbia Basin) with final location agreed upon at hire. The successful candidate will be a member of the WSU Tree Fruit Extension Team and will contribute to the outreach efforts targeted to the Washington State tree fruit industry including producers, orchard employees and allied industry. This position will collaborate with diverse team members, WSU researchers and industry stakeholders to ensure outreach is effectively delivered across multiple platforms. Delivery methods should include but not limited to printed documents, videos, webinars, social media, webpage, podcast and others. The Publications coordinator must be flexible, curious, eager to learn, and comfortable with change in a fast-moving environment. Critical skills include the abilities to: work independently and productively; conduct interviews, synthesize, simplify, and explain complex information; anticipate questions and articulate answers; edit and produce video content; manage time and competing demands and tasks efficiently; and communicate effectively with a wide range of people and personality types. Ability to travel to various locations around the state. Ensure WSU standards and branding are applied to all materials and products.

Required qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree and three years of writing/editing experience; or equivalent education/experience.

· Two (2) years’ experience developing informational, promotional or instructional materials, whether digital or printed.

· Ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex or technical information to diverse audiences.

· Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.

· Must have a working knowledge of desktop publishing software such as InDesign or other info-graphics development applications.

· Must be familiar with the use of Photoshop or other video image editing software such as Camtasia, Premier-Pro or similar editing applications.

· Valid driver’s license and insurability status.

· Ability to travel to various locations around the state.
