Warehouse Operations Manager

2nd Shift, 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Primary Purpose
This role is responsible for ensuring operations processes and standard operating procedures are followed and managing the flow of product through the distribution center and delivered to our customers in a timely manner. The Operations Manager will manage a team of 3-4 supervisors and 50-60 hourly associates within our Outbound Department. This role is responsible for achieving functional KPIs, which include operational expenses, safety goals, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational goals

Major Responsibilities:

• Plans and manages the efficient flow of product through the Outbound Department with a focus on KPI’s, Quality, and Service goals.
• Provides leadership and coaching for 3-4 direct salaried reports and 50-60 indirect hourly reports, while maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment.
• Ensures proper staffing levels according to departmental workloads. Coordinates staffing changes across departments based on projected volume.
• Fosters a “safety first” culture through awareness, training, and accountability.
• Achieves operational goals related to productivity, quality, and safety.
• Identifies improvement opportunities and plans initiatives related to strategic goals.
• Maintains functional plans related to workforce planning, communications planning, and operational planning.
• Understands and demonstrates Essendant’s Core Values (Integrity, Collaboration, Customer-Centric, Embrace & Drive Change).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience within a distribution center.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related discipline preferred
• Strong planning, change management, and proble.m solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate computer skills
