The primary job responsibility of the Spares Operations Manager is to manage the western hemisphere stocking centers, logistics, Export/Import and traffic functions. Ensure that the stocking centers responds to customer demand for parts and provides on time shipments. Ensure that inventory accuracy is constantly kept at 99% or more. Ensure training is provided to employees and the work is done in compliance with regulatory, company processes, policies, and Quality standards.

Manage western hemisphere warehouse and logistics operations to ensure spare parts and equipment are properly received, inspected, stored, picked and shipped in compliance with regulatory (FAA, State, Federal), company processes, policies, and Quality Standards.

  • Provide warehouse and logistics related training to employee concerning; Hazardous material handling, Safety, Operational Processes. Regulatory compliance and Quality Standards.
  • Ensure warehouse is operated in accordance with applicable OSHA regulations and Company safety policies.
  • Ensure that shipments are on time in order to maintain a 98% or greater level of service to our customers.
  • Monitor the workload of the western hemisphere logistics network and ensure that it is adequately staffed for 7x24x365 operations.
  • Create and maintain a 5-year space plan to ensure that adequate storage and work space is available.
  • Manage suppliers that provide offsite storage space, logistics services and equipment maintenance.
  • Manage the department budget and minimize expenses. In particular, minimize the company?s freight cost.
  • Manage traffic functions and ensure that shipment-tracking information is communicated to the customer service representative.
  • Manage Imports and Exports of goods in accordance with Federal and State regulations. Comply with local laws when Import goods to foreign countries.
  • Maintain adequate security measures to properly safeguard the spare parts and equipment inventories. Insure regulatory compliance of exported parts that are classified by the US commerce and State Departments.
  • Manage the receipt, storage, packaging, shipping and disposal of Hazardous Materials to applicable DOT, IATA, Federal and State handling and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that the Spares Department is meeting Operational goals.
  • Recommend and coordinate systems improvements.
  • Other duties may be assigned by management in order to meet department or business objectives on an as needed basis.
