POSITION SUMMARY

The Warehouse Manager will direct and manage all the shipping, receiving, inventory control, crating, and warehousing operations including, incoming and outgoing shipping, storage, and distribution, and ensure all raw materials and supplies are stored correctly and managed efficiently.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and lead the Warehouse Department.
  • Create a culture that fosters continuous improvement, excellence, and accountability.
  • Ensure scalability of the teams’ capabilities.
  • Ensure the team has the skills, tools, and structure to support company needs.
  • Provide mentorship and development opportunities for direct reports that will allow everyone’s potential to be improved and used effectively.
  • Manage shipping, receiving, machine crating, inventory control, and distribution of materials to the production floor.
  • Responsible for inventory control processes, including cycle count program, ensuring high levels of inventory accuracy and control.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate shipments of machines and parts orders.
  • Responsible for freight and logistics negotiations with carriers.
  • Determine warehouse allocation and storage planning to ensure efficient space utilization and efficiencies in the order-picking process.
  • Support Aftermarket Business by ensuring timely and accurate shipments of customer orders.
  • Develop communication and performance management methodologies that serve to keep the Shipping and Receiving team advised relative to business requirements, performance, and how operational improvements are being used to exploit strengths.
  • Ensure a safe working environment exists consistent with OSHA and equipment is maintained safely and effectively used.
  • Work closely and effectively with other functional areas (Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, Finance, and Human Resources) to develop more efficient processes.
  • Work with outside suppliers for shop consumables, gasses, raw materials, machine maintenance, etc.


MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly manage employees in the Warehousing department. Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Mentor, develop, and train.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality and performance of employees.
  • Ensure ongoing feedback to employees and that semi-annual/annual Performance Reviews are conducted.
  • Manage the hiring, promotion, disciplinary action, and termination of employees.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of warehouse/shipping/receiving experience in a leadership capacity
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP/MRP systems and processes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day. The employee is frequently required to grasp, handle and feel objects, control and manage tools, and use hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but at times loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
