SUMMARY

Provides for the scheduled delivery of goods and raw materials to Brookwood stores and shops in a timely and efficient manner; supports Retail operations by assisting with market merchandise processing and handling. In addition, routinely picks up donations in the Community and delivers these donations to the proper location on campus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. In addition, other duties may be assigned.

• Picks up and delivers merchandise to all Brookwood retail stores.
• Picks up and delivers raw materials orders to Brookwood’s shops based on the delivery schedule.
• Assists with shipping/receiving of market merchandise, including safely operating a forklift and other material handling equipment.
• Operates the vehicles to make deliveries according to an established schedule and follows all traffic and safety laws. Looks after the safety of citizens and staff coworkers and immediately reports unsafe conditions to their supervisor, the department manager, or the Community’s safety coordinator. Always initiates safe work habits and never takes chances or risks personal injury.
• Delivers and helps set up fixtures and merchandise for special events and bazaars.
• Maintains the overall clean appearance of the delivery truck, both inside and out, and reports mechanical problems to management.
• Performs other duties deemed appropriate by the Inventory Manager based on the needs of Brookwood.
• Helps with the semi-annual or annual physical inventory of retail stores and the Shipping and Receiving Department.
• Flexible to work some weekends during our bazaar’s season.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES – There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position.

I. QUALIFICATIONS –To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. a. Education and Experience – High school diploma or general education degree (GED), knowledge of the driving area for deliveries.

b. Mathematical Skills – Must be able to perform essential math functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

II. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES –Must have a valid driver’s license from the State of Texas and a driving record that meets Brookwood’s driver standards for the operation of a community vehicle. Driving records may be spot checked at any time for compliance with Brookwood Safe Driver policy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS – The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.

The employee must be able to do the usual physical tasks associated with driving, loading, and unloading deliveries. This job requires the employee to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and constantly move about from one location to another. The incumbent will be exposed to lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, and carrying merchandise with arms extended. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT – While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be exposed to wet and humid conditions, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
