THE OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting to the CFO (with daily interaction with the CEO and the rest of the C-Suite), the VP of Data and Analytics plays a central role in understanding the business, ensuring data is at the center of everything TechInsights does, identifying problems and facilitating solutions through the application of data analytics.

The VP of data and analytics will inherit a team dispersed across various departments (Finance, Sales and Marketing, People, Platform and each of the business units) and coordinate delivery and analysis of day to day data such as tracking marketing effectiveness, sales pipelines, close rates, retention rates, staff utilization, diversity, recruitment effectiveness, price trends, product performance, active users in the platform, types of content viewed, serviceable and total addressable market etc.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The key deliverable will be the establishment and continuous improvement of day to day running and tracking of KPI’s across the entire business, identifying insights and recommendations to drive the company and achieve our ambitious growth plan and to ensure that we deliver on our vision to build the authoritative information platform for the semiconductor industry.

• Ownership of all data within the company, including quality, cleanliness, all data reporting (for avoidance of doubt, not financial reporting)
• Ensure that the organization has data at the heart of everything it does and drives every decision, tracking marketing effectiveness, sales pipelines, close rates, retention rates, staff utilization, diversity, recruitment effectiveness, price trends, product performance, active users in the platform, types of content viewed, serviceable and total addressable market etc.
• Manage a high performing team of analysts across business functions ((Finance, Sales and Marketing, People, Platform and each of the business units)
• Gather information, normalize data and identify, resolve and to the extent required, fix data quality deficiencies
• Ownership of reporting dashboards
• Ownership of Due Diligence and exposure to private equity board and transactions
• Drives team to ensure clear documentation of data sources and output
• Defines and industrializing metrics and KPIs
• Communicates insights to key stakeholders by presenting findings in a clear, concise and initiative way to ensure maximum value
• Prepares strategic recommendations for process adjustments and performance improvements

• Gathers information; understands and analyzes business problems
• Initiates and participates in the development of data and reporting policies and procedures

WHO YOU ARE:

The successful candidate will be comfortable in understanding and manipulating varying significant data sets from multiple sources and will also input into and drive the cleanliness of data and reporting, identifying issues through analytical review of output and fixing upstream data issues in systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite, HRIS system, TechInsights Platform. The candidate will also be able to understand the background to reporting requirements, document the process for delivering and analytically review the quality of the output.

• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, or related discipline
• Experience at consulting companies such as Bain, McKinsey, Accenture, E&Y, PwC etc. or within private equity analysing large data sets for trends as part of go to market consulting projects or acquisition due diligence validating Total Addressable Markets and historical performance of metrics like retention rates, drivers of growth etc.
• Proven skills in data analysis, data models
• Ability to analyze large data sets and write comprehensive reports
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Critical thinking abilities, strong analytical skills and inclination for problem solving
• Persistent attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidential information
• Strong data analysis capabilities with knowledge of business intelligence tools such as Tableau
• Advanced data manipulation tools, and Excel skills
