We are seeking several elementary to middle school level art instructors for the Danforth Art School, a non-credit community art school. We are especially looking for teachers with Grades K-1 experience and those with experience in ceramics to teach afterschool, Saturdays and during Summer.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Instructors teach non-credit bearing studio art classes at the Danforth Art School. Instructors design curriculum, prepare materials, and facilitate fine art classes for children in alignment with program goals.

EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach course(s) in Studio Art to children;
  • Develop curriculum and instructional materials;
  • Support mission and program goals of Danforth Art School at Framingham State University;
  • Accountable for ensuring that affirmative action, equal opportunity, and diversity are integrally tied to all actions and decisions in areas of responsibility.

Job Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Art or Education
  • Evidence of expertise, scholarly activity or creative work appropriate to art
  • Successful teaching experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in Art or Art Education


Additional Information:


This is a part-time non-benefited, contract position, not to exceed 18 hours per week. The pay rate is $35 per hour.
