Nuvance Health is seeking a Vice President for Women's Health Services for our seven-hospital network in Western Connecticut and the Mid-Hudson Valley region of New York State. Our network includes our Medical Practice as well as seven hospitals (Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut as well as Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Northern Dutchess Hospital, and Putnam Hospital Center in New York). We are located about one hour outside of New York City in the suburbs of Fairfield, Litchfield, Dutchess, Putnam, and Ulster Counties with easy train access to New York City.

Summary:
The Vice President of Women’s Health Services is responsible for the administration of Nuvance Health obstetric/gynecological services and for partnering to support other women’s health programs across the system. The position reports to the Nuvance Health Chief Operating Officer and works in close partnership with the System Chairperson for Obstetrics and Gynecology Services. The Vice President is directly accountable for the collaborative development and implementation of system-wide operating plans for Obstetrics/Gynecology, inclusive of inpatient, outpatient, surgical services and Nuvance Health medical practices. The leader shall also evaluate, implement and/or support healthcare programs related to the special health needs of women. Key accountabilities are achievement of clinical quality, patient experience, employee experience and financial/revenue cycle targets. S/he is expected to demonstrate and promote our mission, values, and service excellence behaviors.

Responsibilities:
All major accountabilities are performed in accordance with the System's mission, vision, and goals, and performed in partnership with the System Chair for Obstetrics and Gynecology.

1.Anticipates the future, examines the competitive environment, formulates strategic plans, and articulates the vision for the Obstetrics and Gynecology and Women’s Health. Develops supporting capital and operational budgets.

2.Successfully executes the strategic plan by expertly and effectively establishing operational objectives and priorities across the system and by aligning all sites/team members in the achievement of the goals.

3.Creates and maintains a culture that embraces and successfully achieves exceptional outcomes in patient safety and quality, patient experience, physician and staff engagement and financial stewardship.

4.Develops and ensures the timely provision of operational reports, key process indicators (KPIs), productivity, quality outcomes and other key data to reliably and regularly monitor the performance of the Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health Service Line.

5.Continuously endeavors to integrate Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health service line such that best practices are reproduced across the system, with a focus on quality, efficiency, innovation and growth. Ensures that programs are aligned and deliver reliable and reproducible outcomes.

6.Develops and mentors a high-performing leadership/management team across the service. Creates a robust succession plan. Collaborates with Human Resources to recruit, retain and develop a high-functioning team.

7.Effectively communicates with the executive team, key stakeholders and as appropriate, board members, to enlist support within the organization for all strategic and operational initiatives.

8.Collaborates with the Marketing Department and others to develop the necessary capabilities to continuously evaluate the competitive position of the service line. Uses analyses to develop and implement strategic and marketing plans for OBGYN & Women’s Health services, to include community events and screening programs.

9.Possesses excellent communication and collaboration skills, as evidenced by highly effective relationships with Medical Staff members, colleagues and other key stakeholders.

10.Builds physician bench-strength across the system, recruits and retains talent, and fosters healthy physician relationships and referral patterns within the various markets to achieve appropriate growth and to deliver comprehensive services across the region.

11.Fosters an environment of innovation.

12.Ensures the service line adheres to all applicable regulatory compliance requirements (CMS, TJC, DPH, etc).

13. Models and maintains Nuvance Health values.

14. Performs other duties as required.

Required:
Graduate degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience required along with demonstrated success leading a large department or service line. Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with and influence senior administrative and clinical leadership, operational management and staff in a changing and complex, matrixed environment.

Preferred:
Fellowship status in the American College of Healthcare Executives or American College of Medical Practice Executives.

Education:
Master's Level Degree Essential
