Job Summary and Qualifications

• Directs the daily operation of Quality, Patient Safety/Risk Management, Peer Review, TJC, NCQA, Performance Improvement, Infection Control, Employee Health and Patient Relations.
• Prepares and monitors the budget.
• Monitors the organization’s liability, including risk reduction and claims monitoring to trend reduction in overall liability over time.
• Facilitates the process of monitoring, reporting, evaluating, and recommending improvements on high risk, high volume, high cost, or problem-prone areas.
• Leads the patient safety activities for the organization, and tracks and monitors risk management incidents that impact patient safety.
• Receives, investigates, and responds to complaints, occurrence reports, and claims.
• Facilitates and/or performs focused reviews, identifies and investigates sentinel events, and trends other significant patient care issues and provides recommendations and education to organization staff for areas to be evaluated according to hospital policy.

What qualifications you will need:

• 
  Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred and Clinical background preferred.
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation. (if applicable)
• Minimum two years’ experience in Quality Management, Performance Improvement
• Three years management experience

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340+ bed facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are Johnson County’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center. We have an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center. Our hospital is a premier area destination for Women's & Children’s healthcare services. We offer the region’s only Maternal Fetal Health Center to care for critically ill mothers and their babies. Our hospital has an antepartum unit, a labor and delivery unit, and a Level III NICU. We have four emergency rooms, including a dedicated Pediatric emergency room and two freestanding ERs located in Olathe and Shawnee. Each year our colleagues treat over 45,000 patients.
