Job Description


OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Vice President, Strategic Sales is responsible to increase business opportunities and generate revenue from large key multi-national and strategic customers. This position will execute new sales as well as upselling current existing assigned strategic customers to increase profitability across all markets. This role will also be responsible for designing and executing growth-oriented sales penetration strategies across multiple vertical markets.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate and implement appropriate sales initiatives to increase the company’s overall sales volume.
  • Recommend enhancements to improve win rates and strategic sales potential.
  • Mentor, evaluate and monitor the strategic account sales staff.
  • Convert client’s leads to gross profit in line with agreed objectives.
  • Collaborate with Product Heads on product mix between Ocean and Air.
  • Understand key competitors and provide market intelligence to ensure ongoing competitive pricing (in key trade lanes).
  • Meeting with new clients or paying qualified sales visits as per agreed levels of visits.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to client services, operations and sales support to ensure process and administration efficiency.
  • Provide market feedback to develop TGF’s offering to stay ahead of the market.
  • Attend regular meeting with senior managers to align on Market strategies.
  • Delivering service with high reliability and consistency, making it easier for the client to do business with Toll.
  • Completion of presentations, proposals and tender responses to secure new business.
  • Enter all required sales information into Toll’s Sales platform weekly.
  • Submit reports required by Sales Department and/or senior managers
  • Cooperate with Credit Department to collect / settle outstanding loans / invoices from customers.
  • Incorporate the daily use of the Global CRM platform to document sales activity and relevant customer business details.

Qualifications


SKILLS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB

Business

  • 10+ years of relevant working experience in development and client relationship building within the freight forwarding industry
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Bachelor Degree/Diploma in transportation/logistics/marketing or above

Technical

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with and manipulate large volumes of data.
  • Proven ability to handle key and complex customers.
  • Good problem-solving skills: ability to find core issues and creatively address.
  • Must be results-orientated with a strong customer orientation and ability to operate effectively at many levels within the organization in a virtual environment.
