Wage: $15/hour

Shift: Full time, available to work Saturdays and Holidays. Closed Sundays.

Position Overview:

The Assistant Venue Manager is responsible to help manage the day-to-day operations of the venue along side the Venue Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting with the management of the admission desk, gift shop, food service, and special programs of the venue, in adherence to budget guidelines, to increase revenues and profits, to ensure remarkable guest service, and to provide a clean and safe environment.
  • Provide leadership, motivation, and direction in the development, productivity and satisfaction of team members.
  • Assist the Venue Manager with scheduling, administrative tasks, and any other tasks that are assigned.
  • Mentor and train team members on their ability to “GET” our guests.
  • Collaborate with facilitation/programming staff to ensure lines of communication are open and effective with an aim to recognize common goals for guest experience.
  • Responsible to ensure the growth of Thanksgiving Point’s Membership program, keeping team members focused on making guests aware of the benefits of membership.
  • Handle and resolve guest complaints in a positive manner to ensure remarkable guest services.
  • Participate in the strategic planning for venue success.
  • Check staff attendance according to schedules, adjust and reassign team members, as necessary, in order to provide quality service.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff.
  • Promote respect and positivity in the workplace with all team members and departments.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of applicable experience
  • Able to deliver and receive criticism in a positive manner
  • A drive succeed and excel
  • Able to communicate openly, directly, clearly and cheerfully
  • Unafraid to be assertive with staff when situations call for it.
  • Leadership, attentiveness, eye for quality, organization
  • Able to effectively use and learn computer systems including Microsoft
  • Motivational and ready to spread a “Go get-em” attitude.
  • Ability to make good decisions under pressure and stressful situations.
  • Physical requirements include: standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 20lbs., bending, lifting, walking up and down stairs and twisting.
  • Pass a background check
