Job Title: Validation Associate (Dedicated Client)
Department: Grant Services Team
Reports To: Validation Officer (Dedicated Client)

Summary: Responsible for the charity validation and compliance process for a premier client program as well as supporting the Validation Officer with the client relationship management of the program.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Corresponds with charities to assist them with the application process and with general questions about our services.

  • Adopts a self-management style with the support of the Validation Officer. Collaborates with the team to identify and prioritize areas of need and develop a plan of action.

  • Maintains databases and grants management systems that assist with charity validation and grant processing.

  • Maintains knowledge of regulations that govern both UK & US donor advised funds in the international grantmaking space.

  • Handles sensitive information regularly in compliance with organizational protocols.

  • Reviews international and US grantee applications, in conjunction with CAF America policies and procedures, and evaluates and designates risk level of grantees.

  • Conducts due-diligence research on charitable organizations and their key staff.

  • Maintains knowledge of, and puts into practice, anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing practices and regulations.

  • Provides support to the Validation Officer through the generation of reports, maintenance of databases, and training of new team members to the premier client program.

  • Maintains an information security access of User Access – Validation Associate.

Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write concise, nuanced correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to make judgements of risk based on findings
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, CRM experience or other grants finance management systems like iPhi Core and/or CyberGrants, and Salesforce are preferred.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; and equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Time management. Professionalism internally and externally. Ability to manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Superior attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
