USP Technologies is seeking a Wastewater Technician (also called an Applications Specialist) to join our team around the Bakersfield, California area.

What Will I Be Doing?

Working 40 hours per week, you’ll provide service and support to our existing customer base by traveling to the customer’s location to complete work as required by service contracts. This daily work can include:

Daily Account operations to include feed rate monitoring and adjustments to exceed expectations.

Routine wastewater or water sample collection, testing and data management.

Oversight of chemical delivery process to ensure timely and safe chemical deliveries.

Chemical system inspection and basic service, troubleshooting and maintenance.

Customer interface and coordination for daily work.

Timely and efficient communication with account management team.

Recognizing “out of spec” situations or safety concerns and manage per customer and Company protocols.

In your company-provided vehicle , you can expect to support customers in Southern California and Southern Nevada; this territory includes LA County as well as rural California (from Ventura, to Bakersfield, to Las Vegas). You can plan to be back at home after most shifts; however, up to 30% of the time, overnight stays may be required at company-approved hotels – employee safety is one of our topmost priorities!

What Qualifications Do I Need?

Bachelor of Science; Chemistry, Environmental, Engineering, technical degree, or equivalent experience.

Minimum 2-5 years of customer-facing wastewater treatment or equivalent experience.

Driver's license with a clean driving record – you must be able to travel to customer sites daily within the account base/territory.

Preference will be given to candidates having advanced lab skills and ability to organize and communicate program specifics, including system surveys, customer reports, company forecasting and project management
