We are currently looking for a US Logistics Manager who will be responsible to establish annual and strategic logistics objectives to achieve a world-class global supply chain management. Reporting to the Director of Logistics, this person will bring expertise in negotiation, change management and uses their leadership skills to create, influence and promote an environment where employees are engaged, empowered and committed to the success of the company.

We are looking for a seasoned leader with excellent business acumen to manage all supplier related aspects of the logistics freight business, inbound and outbound to the US. The candidate will also be responsible for the optimization and management of transportation by developing excellent relationships with key providers.

The US Logistics Manager main responsibilities will include:
  • Lead a growing logistics team responsible for all inbound and outbound transportation along with third party terminals and warehouses.
  • Develop strong relationships with key transportation providers/terminals to ensure the most cost-effective movement of materials while providing excellent customer service, in compliance with the regulations
  • Manage directly or through logistics team third party carriers to achieve efficient, cost effective and reliable transportation solutions of all modes (ocean, rail, LTL, truckload, tank truck)
  • Closely align with the commercial team to optimize supply chain and assist in developing new business.
  • Regular communication with sales, operations, logistics, customer service and procurement to identify areas for improvement in support of commercial activities
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of contracts with each provider with a focus on safety, environment, service, and cost controls, while always portraying Quadra’s core values
  • Responsible for creation of the transportation and warehousing financial budget, related financial reporting to ensure overall cost containment while meeting corporate expense initiatives
  • Benchmark competitors’ capabilities, carriers and third parties to ensure we are a leader in the markets we chose to service. Look for opportunities to continue to grow our market share through the use or the addition of warehouses/terminals
  • Analyze and manage carrier/terminal performance, quality, safety and cost through the use of benchmarks, scorecards and process controls
  • Assist Logistics Coordinators in market knowledge, carrier management, evaluation and development as it relates to performance and rate negotiations. Ensure Quadra’s core values are present in all carrier dealings and team is constantly looking for ways to reduce costs and improve service
  • Develop KPI’s for providers and track results to push continuous improvement and assist in measuring viability of providers
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Completed post-secondary degree or diploma in related field; additional professional designations are assets (i.e. CCLP, PLOG).
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership, management and team building experience. Demonstrated leadership qualities, able to engage and influence team and external partners
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in all modes of transport, warehousing and bulk terminal experience with a focus on managing food and pharmaceutical products
  • Experience in managing budgets and costs, creating policies and performance indicators
  • Excellent knowledge of quality programs (ISO, GDP, BRC, RD, COR etc.) as well as the transportation of hazardous materials (TDG, Hazmat)
  • Excellent computer skills (JD Edwards or SAP and OTM experience preferred) and extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce
  • Must be self-motivated, customer driven, dynamic and professional
  • Ability to work independently and handle pressure
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills. Participate in conference and/or trade shows as required
  • When safe and reasonable, a willingness to travel overnight, up to 40% of the time
  • Excellent problem-solving assistance and guidance including afterhours and weekend coverage (day to day emergencies)
