Job Summary:

Our Urgent Care Provider is responsible for providing expert medical care to patients with a range of potential illnesses, injuries or disabilities. Their duties include conducting routine physical examinations on patients, referring patients to medical specialists or counseling services and prescribing patients’ medications based on their condition.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct history and physical
  • Select, order, perform and interpret tests, analyses of diagnostic images to provide information on patient condition and augment physical findings.
  • Analyze reports and findings of tests to diagnose patients.
  • Discuss and explain treatments and medication thoroughly with patients, advising them of all the side effects and making sure that all allergy information is current before prescribing any medication or treatment
  • Keep up to date with medical procedures, developments, treatments and available medication
  • Comply with federal and state HIPAA privacy laws.
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness and injury.
  • Perform procedures including laceration repair, orthopedics and provide referrals to medical specialists.
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results and prescribed treatments with patients.
  • Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow-up notes.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Degree
  • State and federal licensure requirements.
  • Understanding of medical coding and billing.
  • Knowledge of computerized information systems used in business applications and clinical management systems (EMR). Relevant drugs and their chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. Non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, their applicable uses, and relevance to patient care.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations including OSHA, HIPAA, blood borne pathogens and others.
  • Competent with common PC applications including Internet, Email and Microsoft Office.
  • BLS/ALCS/PALS certification.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $124,000.00 per year
