The Senior Transportation Planner reports directly to the Director, Service Planning. This position is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, reviewing, and analyzing cost-effective fixed route bus and rail services along with supporting infrastructure.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Urban or Regional Planning, Transportation Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Geography and/or relevant discipline. Related experience may substitute for educational requirements on a year for year basis for up to four years.
• Four (4) years’ experience in fixed route transit planning.
• Two (2) years’ experience in presentations to public groups and governing boards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Working knowledge of transit scheduling and transit planning.
• Working knowledge of standard office productivity software (word, spreadsheet, presentation, database, and email).
• Working knowledge of scheduling software (Trapeze).
• Basic project management skills.
• Candidate must have excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with staff and the community.

Employees in mobile positions must be in the office for socialization, strategic collaboration, and supervision, as needed. Employees will have access to touchdown/collaboration spaces when on-site. CapMetro is in the early stages of mobility planning and the mobility status of this position could be subject to change

Pay: From $67,604.00 per year
