Ultrasound Technologist - 2 Positions Job at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center
Job Description:
- Explains procedures to patients and/or accompanying family member to assure cooperation and optimum test results
- Position and transfer patients.
- Selects appropriate transducer depending upon depth of field, organ to be identified, etc.
- Conducts scanning procedures using Ultrasound equipment.
- Moves scanner over specific body area, adjusts equipment to focus.
- Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- Makes soft copy images as directed and sends them to PACS along with the scanned documents.
- Documents results of tests accurately in the log book.
- Reschedules test, if necessary, due to poor preparation.
- When necessary must transport patient to and from Ultrasound department.
- Practices sterile techniques and adheres to infection control policies.
- Attends continuing education sessions regularly to maintain a high level of professional competency. ie; (licensure and certification requirements are met).
- Performs sonographic examinations when requested in an interpretative, emergency and department setting.
- Cooperates with all personnel in the proper conduct of the department.
- Maintains established department policies and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- ARDMS certification required.
- Satisfactory completion of formal ultrasound technology training in AMA approved school.

14 hours weekly (Saturday & Sunday) Shift: 11:00Pm - 7:00am
1 Part -Time (Regular) Union: 1199
14 hours weekly ( Saturday & Sunday) Shift: 3:00 Pm - 11:00pm
