Summary:

The Quality Foreman-Concrete Construction will work in the field, at construction sites, supporting project quality initiatives. This position requires someone who is reliable, self-motivated, and ready to be challenged in a busy environment. Duties include reviewing concrete construction and concrete repair work to ensure procedures, best practices, installation standards, and other applicable processes or practices are being implemented. The Quality Foreman-Concrete Construction must document and compile data and information related to various project requirements, specifications and industry standards, including but not limited to ACI and ICRI.

Responsibilities:

• Perform and document inspections of concrete work to ensure compliance with the project requirements, specifications, project execution plans, codes, and industry standards.
  • Inspection and documentation of existing concrete for delamination’s, cracks, spalls, and other damage.
  • Locate and mark embedded reinforcement to facilitate concrete demolition.
  • After concrete demolition, evaluate existing reinforcing steel for overall condition and section loss requiring replacement or augmentation.
  • Inspect existing concrete substrate prior to repair for proper surface preparation (surface texture, bruising, moisture [SSD])
  • Inspect formwork (dimensions, tolerances, and cleanliness).
  • Inspection of plastic concrete properties during placement.
  • Inspection and reporting of repaired concrete for construction defects such as cracks, discolorations, delamination’s, surface imperfections (bugholes),
• Communicate and coordinate with engineers, project leadership, and work crews
• Assemble data into reports and communicate results in writing and verbally ensuring completeness and accuracy of all inspection and testing records prior to submitting.
• Coordinate required paperwork and sign-offs for owner acceptance
• Make measurements and observations of work being performed to ensure accurate quantities are tracked for completed work.

Required Skills and Certifications:

• Must have ability to secure and maintain Unescorted Access to controlled/restricted area of a Nuclear Power Generation Facility.
• Supervisory / Field leadership experience within the concrete construction and concrete repair industry.
• Professional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of construction materials testing and evaluation techniques.
• Must be proficient with a computer with knowledge of Excel or similar spreadsheet application, Word and Outlook (including field data entry via e-tablet)
• The ability to learn, organize and prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, work independently, recognize issues and solve problems.
• Ability to provide feedback and mentoring to construction crews to enhance quality.
