Mechanical Assemblers Needed in Lafayette Indiana

*This a Per Diem opportunity*

A company in Lafayette is looking for assembler with mechanic or vehicle maintenance experience to join their team. In this role you will assemble components and perform adjustments on both diesel and natural gas engines. You could also perform assembly work in

sub-assembly areas directly associated with prime product engine assembly. In addition, assembly technicians prepare engines for testing, painting and shipping of prime product.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

May include, but are not limited to:

• Assembly of large diesel and natural gas engines
• Work includes the use of
  • hand tools
  • pneumatic tools
  • gauges and measuring devices
  • specialized torque equipment
  • electrical testing equipment
  • fork trucks
  • lifting devices/cranes
• Manipulating engine components during the assembly process.
• Learning the technical aspects of engine assembly, including troubleshooting and repair of in process engines.
• Support of safety, quality, and production goals of the area.
• Utilizing computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Applications
• Reading and interpreting standard work in computer programs, engineering prints and factory paperwork

Pay

Will be $25 an hour working 50-60 hour weeks with $150 per diem per day (Per diem is tax free)

Contract Length

This is a 6 month contract. However it is very likely that it will be extended.

Key notes

• You will be responsible for getting your self to the job as well as getting yourself back and forth to the plant each day.
• Work will begin in a Monday and you will be paid the following week Wednesday. That means you will need to put yourself up in a hotel and be able to sustain yourself for the first 8-9 days of the job / until you first paycheck.
• Work will be at the plant everyday
• You will be paid every week on Wednesday
