SUMMARY:

The Transportation Planner is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of scheduling, planning, and shipping customer orders. You will also provide leadership, ensuring key objectives are met within logistics, warehousing, and procurement operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years of applicable experience
• Prior experience in transportation and/or logistics
• Excellent organization, time management, and verbal and written communication skills
• Customer/client focused, and results driven
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Previous leadership experience and teamwork oriented
• Basic technical capabilities, with the ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines
• Ability to walk up to 6 miles per day and travel up to 25 miles per week for assigned tasks

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support cycle and/or physical inventory counts and adjustments
• Support maintenance and production schedules through the organized receiving and storing of raw materials, finishing supplies, and maintenance materials
• Develop initiatives to drive supply chain efficiency
• Lead safety initiatives regarding distribution and all mobile powered equipment
• Complete daily results, inventory, and other measure reports, communicating them to the Site Manager
• Lead the daily cadence call with Transportation and Planning
• Work alongside Customer Service, ensuring orders are complete and meet deadlines
• Lead the Yard Management process, ensuring equipment availability, detention reduction, and identifying other available cost saving measures
• Serve as the site’s main contact with CTT and carriers
• Schedule loads and OSM reporting
• Lead the site system for ERP system support and training (SAP, EWM)
• Communicate with and provide shipping status information to customers
• Manage employee relations, driving a lean, customer centric culture
• Serve as a backup to the Warehouse Manager, when needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
