Position Summary

The Training Coordinator responsibilities include communicating with the management to identify training needs and mapping out development plans for teams and individuals. The Training Coordinator is responsible for assisting the People Development Coordinator in managing, designing, developing, coordinating and conducting all training programs companywide in our stores. They will assist in the implementation and standardization of all Standard Operating Procedures companywide.

Key Responsibilities

The duties of the Training Coordinator include but are not limited to:

  • Create, implement and manage an organization-wide training needs assessment matrix and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
  • Conduct in store trainings based on skills matrix including but not limited to product knowledge
  • Implement cashier’s toolbox, ensure training and tool box is kept up to date
  • Attend in-store meetings and facilitate in-store trainings
  • Conduct Forklift trainings at store locations
  • Teach paint machine maintenance to stores
  • Conduct Ace’s badge program observations
  • Conduct hands on trainings including but not limited to Paint Dispensing, Screen repair, Chip Key/X-Keys, Glass/plexi cutting, Fastener Identification, Shade Cutting, Knife Sharpening, Pool Water/Soil testing, Brass Fitting Identification.
  • Hold trainings on SOPs companywide
  • Map out annual training plans for management, store and support staff
  • Partner with outside vendors to hold trainings at all store locations companywide
  • Conduct Annual Harassment Trainings to comply with state laws
  • Design, prepare and order educational aids and materials
  • Design and develop training programs both outsourced and/or in-house
  • Keep up with state and federal laws and ensure compliance training is being scheduled and executed
  • Use known education principles and stay up-to-date on new training methods and techniques, as well as selecting the appropriate training methods or activities (e.g. simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes, online trainings, or other methods)
  • Market available training to employees and provide necessary information about sessions
  • Gather feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session
  • Create a training recap sheet for employees to take back to stores and train and implement in stores
  • Report training progress through online platforms (Intranet site), through spreadsheets, etc.
  • Maintain ace learning place usernames and passwords
  • Follow up with all company new hires at the 30, 60, & 90-day mark to ensure they have received adequate training and assist with future training needs
  • Follow up with newly promoted employees weekly to ensure they are being trained properly and have the tools needed to succeed.
  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records in Ace Learning Place
  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment
  • Other duties assigned by management
  • Proven work experience as a Training Coordinator, Trainer, Training Facilitator or similar role
  • Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, execute, monitor and evaluate)
  • Willingness to travel to all store locations in each state we operate in and any training facilities
  • Hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events in a corporate setting
  • Experience with e-learning platforms
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team
  • Incredible interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize and execute training events
  • Ability to create marketing materials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to present in front of large and small groups of people
