The Trainer supports all aspects of organizational development needs including but not limited to, assessment, development and implementation of training. The Trainer Associate keeps abreast of various training delivery techniques, business processes, products and systems and will also be involved in education project management including coordination of team involvement and assignments. The Trainer has basic knowledge of theories, practices and procedures for Care Services, performs routine or structured work, responds to routine or standard requests, uses existing procedures and facts to solve routine problems or conduct routine analyses.

This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and apply knowledge of clinical training best practices
  • Demonstrate understanding of applicable business structures and strategies
  • Support trainer having appropriate preparation to ensure full understanding of training content and objectives prior to delivery
  • Collaborate with appropriate resources (e.g., instructional designers, systems trainers, clinical trainers, business partners, SMEs, business leadership) to facilitate and develop training plans and support training material development
  • Develop and track project plan for education projects including documentation of expectations for all applicable stakeholders (e.g., business leaders, learners, trainers)
  • Support training technology needs (e.g., WebEx, Knowledge Management Systems, LearnSource, equipment)
  • Ensure that the logistics of the learning environment are completed and in place (e.g., rosters, technology, room arrangements/configuration, learning materials)
  • Obtain and publish to the team knowledge of applicable emergency procedures at the learning site (e.g., inclement weather protocols, medical emergencies, building evacuation procedures)
  • Facilitate meetings to prepare others for effective training, including provision of appropriate context/direction (e.g.,vendors, consultants, colleagues) to prepare them to deliver training.
  • Engage/collaborate with appropriate stakeholders and Subject Matter and Information Technology (IT)experts to support preparation of appropriate training materials
  • Adhere to established guidelines for formatting and templates
  • Comply with all required policies, regulations and procedures applicable to the learning process and care services(e.g., CMS, HIPAA, HR policies)
  • Support collection of learner feedback (e.g., knowledge checks, assessments, polls, surveys)
  • Ensure/provide training coordination/support to facilitate delivery of effective training (e.g., room coordination, supplies/materials, enrollments, scheduling)
  • Contact learners' leadership as directed during the training process, as needed (e.g., to communicate learning progress, behavioral issues, attendance issues, follow up needed)
  • Support/Provide post-training support to learners, as needed (e.g., outstanding questions/issues, parking lot items, unmet expectations, additional copies of learning materials, on-the job support, appropriate referrals for learners)
  • Provide feedback to appropriate stakeholders on ways to improve learning outcomes, based on established data/metrics and experience with learners (e.g., instructional designers, other trainers, business leadership)
  • Identify and monitor applicable metrics/data/trends to track learning effectiveness and recommend/drive changes to enhance learning outcomes
  • Generate/analyze reports on training processes/outcomes, and track applicable performance metrics and distribute to applicable audiences as appropriate
  • Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to drive changes to learning approaches/strategies/methodologies, training plans as needed (e.g.,processes, procedures, materials, techniques, curricula) as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of experience supporting instructional design, training development and training delivery
  • 1+ year of experience supporting online learning programs and tools; instructional design and formatting; and educational material electronic packaging
  • 1 + years of experience supporting healthcare training, specifically training on EHR systems and training to healthcare professionals
  • Intermediate to advanced experience working Microsoft office operations-PowerPoint, Windows, Excel, WebEx, Teleconferencing
  • Ability to work an 8 hour shift between 8:00am – 5:00pm including the flexibility to work occasional overtime per business need

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher)
  • SharePoint experience

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $26.15 - $46.63. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $28.85 - $51.30.
