PERMANENT PART‐TIME TOWN COURT ‐ BAILIFF
The Town of Henrietta is looking to fill a Permanent part‐time Bailiff position at the Town Court.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the order, safety and security within the courtroom and hallway. Act as a liaison between the Court and private security agencies. This position does not require carrying of a fire arm.
Other Duties Include:
- Prior to the start of court, organize the courtroom to meet the needs of the court session being conducted that day/night.
- Screen and check all individuals arriving at the Court for any illegal contraband or dangerous weapons which may be detected while scanning and searching them prior to permitting access to the courtroom.
- Maintain a quiet and safe courtroom while court is in session.
- Unlock, lock and check courtroom, hallway and exterior doors prior to and upon completion of court sessions.
- Escort Judge, Clerks and District Attorney to their vehicles upon the completion of court.
THIS POSITION
Requirements:
- Proficient in verbal and written communications and instructions.
- Possess the capability to diffuse hostile situations should they occur.
- Ability to lift thirty (30) to forty (40) pounds.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $16.50 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Rochester, NY 14623: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
