Job Summary: W. D. Laramore is looking for an experienced Welder to work full-time in the Sheet Metal Department. Work schedule is Monday - Thursday starting at 7:00 am and ending at 5:30 pm. Overtime is typically scheduled for Fridays. Candidate must be able to work the stated schedule and overtime hours as required. A successful weld test is required as part of the candidate screening process.

Requirements:

Essential Functions:

  • Use MIG & TIG techniques to weld aluminum and stainless steel materials.
  • Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.
  • Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
  • Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • MUST be trained in welding MIG and TIG with aluminum and stainless steel materials.
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • A valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience as a welder.
  • Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, equipment, and manual tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Possess good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small parts.
  • Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs, bend, and kneel.
