About the Job:
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Director, this position will assess a patient’s functional status and provide psychotherapy services. During these assessments, the Provider will determine the patient’s eligibility for services and support systems provided to eligible individuals. The Provider will utilize empirically verified interventions to assess what type of treatment episode an incoming patient would benefit from. As an effective member of the treatment team, the psychoeducational clinician participates in treatment team meetings, conducts various treatment programs, utilizes the treatment curriculum, and interacts with clients utilizing didactic and directive interventions. He/she will also complete all clinical documentation and work cooperatively with other team members to ameliorate the symptoms of those assigned to his her caseload. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workloads, and recommend changes in office practices or procedures.
Essential Functions:

  • Perform a full range of clinical social work services in support of the patient’s primary therapist/treatment team.
  • Completes diagnostic assessments, (initial and annual), intake documentation, discharge plans/summaries, and level of care assessments; person-centered treatment plans provide group/family/individual therapy; and assists in program development and implementation.
  • Provide the professional expertise necessary to make determinations regarding patient eligibility.
  • Provides evidence-based psychotherapy for clients who present with various concerns.
  • Coordinate with Primary Care Physicians and other allied providers.
  • Interacts with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Handles confidential and non-routine information and explains policies when necessary.
  • Make recommendations related to the care needs regarding the client's health and safety welfare.
  • Develops and assists in the implementation of discharge and aftercare plans.
  • To provide the appropriate documentation for service delivery including treatment goals, progress notes, and billing, and submit documentation as specified by MHRS and PHRI standards.

Required Education and Experience:
  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline is required.
  • Must have one of the following certifications: DC LICSW, LGSW, or LPC.
  • Must have at least 1 - 4 years of work experience in adolescent counseling and DSM-V diagnosis, including crisis management, intensive case management, individual and/or family therapy, skill training, and other rehabilitation supports preferred for at-risk youth and adults.
  • Must have at least 2 years of work experience with the Mental Health Rehabilitative Services (MHRS) Program.
