If this sounds like an environment you would thrive in, we have an exciting opportunity for a Test Lab Technician. The selected candidate will work within the Advanced Reactor Testing program. The candidate will work primarily at the Waltz Mill site.
- Your Day-to-Day:
- Support hands on development and assembly of test fixtures/equipment and be responsible for laboratory housekeeping (inventory, maintenance, operations).
- Troubleshoot test equipment (furnaces, pumps, valves, instrumentation, etc.)
- Coordinate with site personal for equipment installations and maintenance
- Order tooling and laboratory supplies as needed
- Fabrication and assembly of test fixtures and test equipment.
- Installation and troubleshooting of instrumentation and equipment controls.
- Participate in meetings to review work tasks with engineering and project management teams on the design and assembly of first of a kind test setups.
- Perform welding and machining operations.

- Minimum two year technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Highly motivated, self-starter.
- Mechanical problem-solving skills.
- Hands on fabrication experience.
- Experience operating machining equipment.
- Experience with instrumentation (i.e. pressure, flow, temperature).
- Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and process flow diagrams.
- Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with basic wiring.
- Familiar with safe handling of bottled gasses.
- Crane and rigging operational experience.
- Strong organizational, planning skills, and attention to detail.
- Good judgment and the ability to prioritize a number of diverse tasks.
- Effective communication and team oriented.
- Preferred Prior experience working in a lab/testing environment.
- Preferred experience in welding with various processes and materials(SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, brazing).
- Preferred software skills: Auto Cad, Inventor, and/or Solidworks.
- Preferred pressure, temperature, and fluid flow instrumentation experience.
- Preferred working knowledge of ASME Section VIII BPVC code.
