Accounting/Personnel Technician For Special Education

Under the direction of the Santa Ynez Valley Special Education Consortium (SYVSEC) Director, the Accounting/Personnel Technician provides accounting, clerical, and Human Resources support to the SYVSEC Office and the BUSD District Office. The Accounting/Personnel Technician assists in performing technical accounting functions for an assigned set of accounts in such areas as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, employee benefits, and general ledger. The Accounting/Personnel Technician assists in organizing and maintaining special education programs and services to assure compliance with federal, state, and local mandates. In addition, the Accounting/Personnel Technician is responsible for the coordination of substitutes.

Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to: two years of college level training with specialized course work in accounting, bookkeeping or related field, and/or increasingly responsible experience in the preparation and maintenance of financial and/or statistical records in an automated accounting environment.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

· Accounting and auditing principle, practices, and procedures · Financial, statistical and fiscal record-keeping principles

· Maintain and audit fiscal records and accounts · Technical aspects of field of specialty

· Knowledge of modern technology, including computer proficiency, daily use of common software such as Microsoft Office, Internet, Outlook, etc.

· Modern office practices, procedures and equipment

· Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy

· Correct English use, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary

· Compose correspondence independently

· Oral and written communication skills

· Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others

· Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding students and personnel

· Work independently and under supervision

· Plan and organize work · Knowledge or experience in special education preferred

Job Types: Temporary, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.79 per hour
