Position Summary
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. The employee shall support Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center’s strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.
The telemetry technician is an unlicensed caregiver working under the direction of the Registered Nurse. This position is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides Registered Nurses and /or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. This position is required to perform Unit Secretary duties for the unit as assigned.
Pay Rate: $21.00/hr
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency.
Minimum of one year acute care experience as a telemetry technician or nursing student who has completed the first semester of nursing school preferred.
Computer, internet, order entry and word processing experience preferred.

Proficient in medical terminology.
Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers card.

Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia course or successful passing of hospital specific Basic Dysrhythmia Exam.
