Due to our expanding market penetration we are currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Supervisor to join our growing team in the Humble, TX area.

Position Summary:

The Construction Supervisor partners with Project Managers to provide management oversight for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating workers, material and equipment, ensuring that construction activities are performed in accordance with schedule and budget. This position is assigned to projects or programs that will have direct project P&L responsibility.

Primary Outcomes:

  • Direct the day-to-day field operations through Foremen and Subcontractors, crew dispatch, tools and equipment for the days work and providing necessary technical guidance and leadership.
  • Ensure Company tracking methods and systems are implemented to measure productivity levels, coordinate with fleet and tool management, and perform regular review of job cost and progress reports.
  • Responsible for compliance with HMI safety policies and procedures, assist in the investigation of incidents and claims, and communicate lessons learned to crews.
  • Provides insight to leadership in the continuous improvement of methodology, tools and approaches using fundamentals of HMI Project Management practices.

Business Acumen:

  • Fully understands the business, the context, and implications related to managing construction operations within the assigned operating unit.
  • Ensures work is executed in compliance with the HMI established Project Management Methodology and upholds HMI safety and quality management protocols.

Leadership and Interaction:

  • Responsible for providing guidance in larger initiatives and coordinating internal processes. May manage or provide technical guidance and coaching to less experienced personnel.
  • Interfaces with various internal and external stakeholders on assigned construction projects. Communicates with influence to client group and team members; present effectively.
  • May plan, manage, and evaluate work of department staff; and may make decisions regarding pay, performance management, development and staffing levels with appropriate level approval.
  • Ensure that team goals, roles, protocols, and business relationships are consistent with high-performance requirements and congruent with the company's strategy. Manages in an environment of trust and candor, promotes accountability, and assertively offers encouragement and constructive feedback.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, (4 year post-secondary education preferred), or equivalent work experience in Project Management, Engineering, or Construction related field.
  • 10 + years of OSP Telecom Construction experience in both buried and aerial plant and/or Natural Gas Distribution experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (equipment management, cost control, scheduling, contract administration, and safety).
  • Experience with industry relevant software and proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Supervising / Dispatching construction crews
