LBS is WILLING TO TRAIN a full-time Highway Laborer Trainee. We maintain highways and roadways in Orange, Seminole, and Lake County, FL. YOUR ROLE
- Uses landscaping equipment on highway medians, ramps, and shoulders, such as: mower, weed eater, trimmer, edger, pole-saw, blower
- Cleans and grades stormwater and ditches, drainage structures, road shoulders, and slopes
- Removes litter and debris from roadside
- Repairs fences, metal guardrail and attenuators, and signage (e.g. speed limit signs)
- Applies herbicide and weed control
- Responds to accidents with lane closures and cone placement (similar to flagging) aka MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) or temporary traffic control
WHAT YOU BRING
- Valid and Current Florida Driver's License (sorry, no exceptions)
- Ability to lift 50 - 60 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors most of your shift
- Ability to work along highways with traffic passing by at varying rates of speed
*All candidates must pass a pre-employment federal background screen, motor vehicle background check, and drug test*
