This position is assigned to Vandenberg AFB, California.

This position is not eligible for telecommuting

Essential Functions:

  • Operate, maintain and perform preventative and corrective maintenance as required on various electronic devices/communications systems, including but not limited too; SONET, ATM, IP protocol-based systems, switching equipment, channel banks, uninterruptible power systems - AC and DC
  • Operate a variety of test equipment, utilize reference documentation or verbal directions to complete tasks, other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Solid written and oral communication skills and ability to present information to an individual or group
  • Ability to complete standard math problems; to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and determining rate, ratio, percentage, etc.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks based upon written or oral instructions
  • Ability to mentor junior technicians
  • Possess good computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite programs
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and troubleshooting skills.

Required Experience

  • Associates of Science Degree in Technical field or technical school certification, equivalent military experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Seven (7) or more years’ experience in maintaining electronic or communications systems/devices
  • Experience understanding the functions of telecommunications and associate support equipment

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Ability to lift and or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
  • Occasional travel to remote locations may be required on an as needed basis.
  • The flexibility to work non-duty hours or on weekends, as well as overtime, to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required

The hourly rate for this role is determined by a Collective Bargaining Unit and ranges from $33.93 - $42.34. RGNext considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training and preferred skills and knowledge.
