Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Technical Specialist to join our Yamaha Golf Car team in Kennesaw GA. The Technical Specialist serves as a liaison between the Dealer network and Yamaha to ensure a mutual understanding of business conditions. He / she coordinates with Dealers, Distributors, Field Service staff, and both Domestic and Overseas Service to analyze and report market problems. This position provides recommendations for product improvement and identifies solutions to increase customer satisfaction.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the factory with continuous information regarding any product complaints in the form of market reports, including technical diagrams, failed parts and customer feedback. Analyze call data, warranty claims, parts movement, market information reports and customer reports for trends and problems. Investigate and evaluate those problems and report to Management and Factories.
  • Report solutions to Management, Field Staff, Dealers and Distributors through internal reports and / or technical publications.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information not intended for general consumption.
  • Develop, train and support the Technical Advisor staff to ensure technical knowledge sharing and maximize efficient dealer phone support.
  • Analyze warranty data and provide summary reports (e.g., Market Priority Report and Monthly Seep Dive)
  • Coordinate with Factory staff to perform Service and QRQS related tasks necessary to support the Market as specified and/or requested. This includes but is not limited to administrating flat rate data, performing serviceability checks, preparing and presenting meeting material.
  • Submit accurate and timely reports as specified and/or requested. This includes but is not limited to Monthly and Market Information Reports.
  • Manage and coordinate special projects as needed.
  • Travel in Market as required to gain knowledge of general market, and insight on potential issues and trends.
  • Interfaces with other Yamaha personnel in service, parts, sales or other divisions as needed to obtain the information necessary to make objective equitable decisions.




Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Technical School or college degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of mechanical experience in golf car, motorsports or automotive environment.
  • A minimum 2 years of Yamaha service experience.
  • Proficient in MS office applications, particularly PowerPoint.
  • Must have the ability to become proficient in Yamaha proprietary systems.
  • Knowledge of Business Objects and Seibel systems preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Instructing and training skills required.
  • Must have a clean driving record and valid driver’s license required.
  • Up to 25% travel required, national and international.
  • Must be able to obtain a company issued or personal credit card for travel-related expenses.
  • Must be able to work extended hours as required.
