Overview

First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs is seeking a part-time Technical Coordinator. This position is for 7-12 hours per week part-time, reports directly to the Communications Coordinator, works in conjunction with other administrative staff and lay leaders, and is responsible to the Pastor and worship committee.

Job Responsibilities

Produce, coordinate, and implement the technical aspects of Sunday morning worship services, rehearsals, special services, events, and outreaches. These aspects include but are not limited to, sound, video, live-streaming, PTZ camera operations, and other audio/visual and technology needs for these events.

The Technical Coordinator is responsible for providing oversight in all aspects of the media booth on Sunday mornings and special events; this includes working with the media team volunteers to manage sound mixing, live stream, PTZ cameras, and on-screen multimedia. The Technical Coordinator must generally be available for all Sunday services, praise team rehearsals (usually Thursday evenings from 5:30-7 PM), special events (on or off campus), and be diligent in training and scheduling a replacement in your occasional absence.

Duties

● Ensure sound equipment is set up and ready prior to rehearsals and services
● Work in conjunction with the Communications Coordinator to recruit, train, and manage media team volunteers
● Attend Thursday evening praise team rehearsals for soundchecks and mixing
● Test and manage all equipment on a regular basis and keep stage clean and tidy
● Ensure all wireless mics and IEMs have fresh/operational batteries
● Organize and label cables, equipment, soundboard, stage boxes and audio storage as needed
● Capable of creating and maintaining a professional live mix, as well as a streaming online mix
● Assist ministry leaders with audio/visual needs
● Process and upload weekly worship services and sermons to online platforms
● Work closely with praise team leader and organist/choir director to ensure a high-quality mix weekly
● Coordinate AV support for special events, weddings and funerals

Education and Experience

● 2 to 3+ years in audio/visual technology
● Sound engineering and FOH experience preferred
● Experience with digital consoles, digital snakes and digital signal processors
● Livestreaming platforms (Wirecast, Facebook Live, Vimeo)
● Multi-camera PTZ systems (Vaddio)
● Presentation software (ProPresenter)
● Familiarity with Mac operating systems
● Familiarity with Midas and Soundcraft consoles a plus
● Knowledge of audio/video signal flows
● Working or volunteering in a church ministry or setting is a plus
