Tilden Preparatory School has open enrollment all year and the demand for classes and instructors increases as the year progresses. We are always looking for talented teachers who are passionate about working with middle and high school students in a 1:1 or small group setting.

Position Details

Pay: $33.00 - $38.00 per instructional hour + $5/hr for AP Classes

Full Time

We hire teachers full-time and part-time. You must have availability Monday through Friday at the same hours each day (for example: Monday through Friday 8am - 2.45pm or 9am - 4.45pm)

In order to keep your schedule full, it is important that you be able to teach at least two of these areas (each bullet point is one area):

• Biology (through AP is a plus) and Math through Algebra 2
• Chemistry (through AP is a plus) and Math through Algebra 2
• Computer Programming
• Math through AP Calculus
• Physics or Statistics or Economics, though AP is a plus
• English, Ideally through AP
• History (World, U.S., Gov.) ideally through AP for two courses
• Spanish, ideally through AP
• French, ideally through AP
• ASL, ideally through AP

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree; Teaching credential is not required.
• Ability to report to work in person.
• Compliance with mandatory COVID vaccination policy.
• Enthusiasm and positive spirit, especially with teens.
• Teaching/tutoring experience preferred.

We are a small, innovative, WASC accredited middle and high school with campuses in Albany and Walnut Creek. We offer U.C. approved courses one-to-one and in small groups. Our students cover the full range, from students who want to accelerate, to students who need to go at a slower pace for a variety of reasons.
