Technology Access Foundation Federal Way, WA

Job Title: STEMbyTAF Integration Transformation Coach

Reports to: Director of STEMbyTAF at TAF@SGH

Location: TAF@Saghalie

Position Closes: Open until filled

Status: Full Time, Exempt

Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000

Every student can achieve academic success, yet the public education system was not designed to meet students of color where they are, instead they marginalized and underestimated their abilities. TAF partners with school districts, educators, and organizations to challenge the current public education system. We address the entire public education system, from top-to-bottom, providing STEM skills and equitable, anti-racist education environments where all students can succeed and by working with emerging and established education leaders of color to improve representation at every level. We:

  • Co-manage two public STEM schools where we provide industry-relevant, equitable curriculum and experiences
  • Partner with existing schools and coach staff and students to use our successful STEMbyTAF learning model
  • Empower early-career educators and establish school leaders of color through educational equity and liberation pedagogy

TAF had been co-managing TAF Academy and TAF@Saghalie since 2008. There are no other organizations in Washington that co-manage public schools, so we’re always on the “bleeding” edge of education reform. Our ability to continue successful co-management depends greatly on the skills, experience and character of the Director.

We’re looking for a dynamic teacher leader/ instructional coach who has a passion for equitable public education and can inspire and bring to life project-based learning for students and teachers while integrating STEM. A successful candidate will be relational and strategic in their approach, understands the importance of collaboration and familial and community partnerships, and is on their own personal journey towards racial equity.

This is an opportunity of a lifetime – a chance to play a significant role in changing how the public education system educates students.

The STEMbyTAF Transformation/STEM Integration Coach at TAF@Saghalie supports teachers and leaders with the development and implementation of PBL projects and students’ presentations of learning. At schools that are co-managed by TAF, they also organize and oversee the implementation of STEM EXPO. The STEMbyTAF Transformation/STEM Integration Coach will work primarily at TAF@Saghalie and will report to the Director of TAF@Saghalie.
