Overview:
The West Coast Technology Originations team is looking for a Senior Vice President to help source new loan and deposit relationships within the venture capital ecosystem. This is a greenfield opportunity in the largest U.S. funding market with room for upward mobility. Responsibilities:
  • Identify, source, underwrite, present, document, close, and refer new loan & deposit opportunities by:
    • Developing new contacts and leveraging an existing network of entrepreneurs, VCs, CFOs, CPAs, attorneys, and other influencers in the startup technology ecosystem;
    • Sourcing new leads and running point on inbound referrals;
    • Marketing at industry events; and,
    • Coordinating business development & client management efforts with Credit, Treasury Management, Legal, Client Services, Loan Operations, and other banking groups.
  • Help train staff and work with the team to achieve goals around loans, deposits, credit quality, and non-interest income.
  • Effectively manage credit risk for both new and recently boarded Borrowers by highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and mitigants during the initial deal screening, underwriting, legal, and portfolio management processes.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • 10+ years of relevant technology banking experience including a successful track record providing debt to venture-backed startups
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Creative and strategic thinker with excellent problem solving and organizational skills;
  • Ability to exhibit professionalism and a positive attitude under pressure;
  • Ability to work independently yet collaborate cross-functionally in a team environment;
  • Superior oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, projects and relationships simultaneously;
  • Proven success in managing large client accounts.
  • Sound negotiating skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), CRMs (ideally Salesforce.com), and video communication tools (e.g. WebEx, Zoom).
Physical Requirements:
  • Role requires sitting or standing in front of a computer monitor for prolonged periods of time in a fixed neck position.
  • Constant use of a computer or other office equipment resulting in repeating motions of the hands and wrists.
  • Light work that may include moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Rewards

National Base Pay Range (annual): $145,209.85 to $291,001.81

Final salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with geographic/market data.
